Handling & Care
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR UNIQUE PIECE
Our hand-blown glasses and vessels are true works of art and with the right care, they will retain their brilliance and beauty for years to come.
To help you enjoy your ICHIGO collection for as long as possible, we’ve compiled our most important care tips.
THE SIX GOLDEN RULES OF GLASS CARE
A steady grip
Always hold your glass or vessel by the solid body when cleaning, never by the rim or stem (though ours are stemless, just in case).
Handwashing is best
Wash your coupettes, vases, and decanters gently by hand using lukewarm water and mild dish soap.
Dishwasher with caution
If using a dishwasher, choose a gentle program with a max temperature of 65 °C. Make sure glasses don’t touch to avoid scratches or breakage.
Let the steam escape
Open the dishwasher door right after the cycle ends to release steam and prevent water spots.
White vinegar as secret weapon
For stubborn limescale or mineral spots, gently treat with a mixture of white vinegar (e.g. mild apple cider vinegar) and water.
Gentle polishing
Use a soft cotton or linen cloth to dry and polish your glass, preserving shine and avoiding scratches.
EXTRA TIPS FOR LASTING BEAUTY
Avoid temperature fluctuations
Do not rinse cold glasses with hot water, as sudden changes in temperature can damage the glass.
Proper storage
Store your glasses and vessels with enough space between them to prevent contact. We do not recommend stacking, if stacking is unavoidable, place soft cloths in between.
Gentle cleaning agents
Use only mild dishwashing liquids free from harsh chemicals or citric acid to protect the glass structure.
Safe polishing
When polishing, hold the glass by the sturdy bowl rather than the rim to avoid tension and breakage.
The final touch
A light breath on the glass before polishing will give it a flawless shine, just like cleaning fine eyewear.
With these care tips, your ICHIGO.Coupettes and ICHIGO.Bloom vases and decanters will retain their refined beauty and bring you joy for years to come.
