Pleasure as ritual
ICHIGO.VIENNA
Food Retreat Marienkron
In mid-September, the Seewinkel became the stage for a quiet kind of luxury for three days. At the second Food Retreat at the Retreat & Health Resort Marienkron in Mönchhof, fine dining, Burgenland wine, jazz and restoration came together.
At the stove stood Johannes Nuding of the two-Michelin-starred Schwarzer Adler in Hall in Tirol, François-Xavier Simon of the one-Michelin-starred Bistrot Blaise in Belgium, and Marienkron‘s own head chef Patrick Posch, who reinterprets Burgenland home cooking with a largely vegetarian focus and a fine feel for herbs.

The aperitif, a Brut Nature sparkling wine from Umathum, was served in our Coupettes. That first sip before a six-course dinner is a moment of arrival.
It is exactly what the glass was designed for: the instant you realise the evening is going to be something special.
Mouth-blown Coupettes x Marienkron
Marienkron’s managing director Elke Müller sees wellbeing and pleasure as closely intertwined. So do we. A glass that sits well in the hand and catches the light turns a mindful aperitif into an invitation rather than a compromise.
And it doesn’t end with one weekend. The ICHIGO.Coupettes will soon be served at Marienkron’s reception and in its suites, and will also be available in the resort’s shop.
